Starting to feel the off-road itch, but only have the factory spare . . . anybody got an extra 255/60R18 112V for a 2008?
Also . . . will it fit in the spare area if not the thin one?

It will fit. You are going to pay a pretty penny for a LR rim. Just so that you know, an 18" rim from a BMW X5 will fit. This is a cheaper route, in case it matters. It's cheaper because it's much easier to find X5 rims on Craigslist or at used wheel/tire shops as opposed to LR3 rims.

I have 4 MT/Rs mounted on the 18" LR rims and one BFG Long Trail tire mounted on an X5 rim as a spare. The tire/rim combo, mounted and balanced, cost me $100 (I think...it may've been $150). Since I bought the road hazzard insurance on the MT/Rs, I need only get back to my nearest Discount Tire and I'd get a new tire and be good to go again.

Just another option for ya.

Oh...the full sized tire will fit. An oversized one becomes difficult and you'd have to deflate it.

I find great deals on used rims on Ebay payed a little as $60 in one case. Most of the time I spend arouns $130-$150. The prices vary depending on how many are listed at the time.

$60!?!?! That must've been damn lucky because it seems to that shipping would be nearly that. Anyhow...like I said there are more used X5 rims to be had as compared to the LR3.

Yeah the spindle size is a problem with trying to fit DII rims....but I live to tell that the X5 rim fits. I have one and I have mounted it.

You have to look around more, it is not always right out in front of you. Some days there are none other days there are many.

Keep watching.

Mostly you just need to know what yours looks like and sift through, They rarely show a part number but you will know yours when you see it.

Tires pop up once in a while but mostly in a set.

If you can't find the exact style rim you are looking for, you can get a non matching one in the short term as I did, until you find the right one then resale it.

The 10 spoke 18 inch are the most common, that same as in the set above.
