Liftgate (upper tailgate) does not fully latch

I just replaced the latch and acuator on the lift gate (upper tailgate, whatever). The good news is the acuator works and the liftgate opens when you hit the switch, press the key fob, or do the manual override. The bad news is the striker doesn't fully seat. When I shut the liftgate, it doesn't sit flush w/ the tailgate and it wiggles. I adjusted the striker to the limit and it's better but not solved. Any ideas?

You can adjust the Hatch Strikers on each vertical side of the hatch- they look like black plastic wedges- one on each side.
Did you try cleaning the contact center metal latch contact points and spraying them with dry lube?

Thanks for the reply. I'll try to hatch strikes and will report back if that does the trick. All the center stuff is new and/or cleaned and lubed

The fix was to adjust the upper and lower tailgate. I moved the strikes for the lower tailgate outward and that helped get the upper tailgate to behave.
