Key proximity to the LR4, keeping it 'awake' and draining the battery has been discussed in several other threads on this forum. It is definitely a problem on my 2011 HSE Lux. I have solved the problem by making a point to have the key at more than a meter from the vehicle. There is a convenient stash place on the vehicle that is outside of the range of any sensors - PM me if you want the location (don't want to post that publicly).
I'm interested by LR4 owners who report this being a 'non issue'; maybe different year and/or version of firmware...but with my 2011 HSE Lux (with all updates the dealer could find to apply) it is definitely a problem.
I don't think anybody is frothing at the mouth at all. If keeping the key out of the car works, then it works. It's good FWIW information to know if this should arise with anybody else. So officially, thank you for posting![]()
