Hydraulic Jack Suggestions

This is the one I use on my LR4. It isn't light at 93 lbs, but the long reach, foot pedal, and almost 24" lift height is handy:

Yes, it's "only" rated a 2 tons, but remember even with 2 wheels off the ground, you're still not lifting the full weight of the vehicle. IIRC, the yellow Daytona was not available when I bought this a couple years ago, I'd have been pretty tempted to go yellow after comparing specs.

PSA: Remember to have jack stands in place before you crawl underneath! Don't trust only the hydraulic jack with your life.

nah, just looking for a good rolling jack so I can quickly rotate my tires or do work behind the wheels without having to use my spare tire jack. I've been told that you get what you pay for with some of these and was wondering if anyone had a good experience with one they use. I get mud caked in the calipers which causes squeaky brakes, so it'd be nice to be able to throw a jack under there and quickly take the wheel off to clean it up.

Bought mine at Costco for $99. It's awesome. I bought it for swap out of my summer/winter tires on the Cayenne S. Use it regularly on the Landy and my Burb. In fact I used it yesterday for front brakes on the LR4. I also bought a 1/2 battery powered impact wrench (Milwaukee version). It's like I'm in the pits at NASCAR. you don't have to loosen the lugs with the tire on the ground with this baby! Makes taking tires off/on fun. This is fantastic. So you can set this to mode 1 and it will automatically tighten to 100 ft/lbs and stop so you don't over torque the lugs?

It's never a good idea to torque down lug nuts with an impact driver. Impact wrench for off and torque wrench for on.

The main reason is that you will want to distribute the forces as you install across all fasteners as evenly as possible rather than just clamp down to the intended torque limit. Also, torque wrenches should be periodically calibrated and that is something you can't really do with an impact wrench (although it should be technically possible with the newer brushless-motors types, just don't think they are designed with that ability).

If you're currently spinning the lugs by hand, it will cut the time substantially. When installing, just don't use the impact wrench to fully tighten the lugs, use a torque wrench as the final step.

BTW, that Milwaukee Fuel has been on my wish list for a while... but the full kit with high-torque 1/2" driver, battery & charger is closer to $400. Haven't been able to stomach the cost just yet, my air impact is still working fine.

I was going to ask here which hand/manual torque wrench to get for rotating tires. I was looking for something accurate with cost within reason. Saw some digital readout ones while searching. But I did not know that the torque wrenches require periodic calibration.

What are the recommendations here and how do you calibrate them and when do you know its time to do so?

My only concern is the maximum lift of that puppy, at just over 19" that may not quite be enough to get one (or two) wheels off the ground in a garage without some extra help (extension or wood block), especially if you are "wearing" oversized tires on your LR4. Otherwise, that looks good and lightweight.

Yeah I was worried about its max height. My main reason to get Arcan is due to its light weight and portability. I do not have a large garage space, so currently have no choice but to carry it back into my apartment, etc.

I will be doing five wheel rotation so will be lifting one wheel at a time.

I did some research and did not really find anything that would connect or fit onto the saddle of Arcan I mentioned above, so a wood block maybe the way go.
