i just bought a used 1998 range rover,and all i hear from my friends are negative staff about range rover and its has always been my dream to have one,anyway im happy to be part of this forum so i can get some informations and ideas.

Welcome to the Forum, did you get a 4.0 or a 4.6? Either way not bad, but the 4.6 has more power

Negative stuff comes from people who do not or are not willing to take care of a vehicle.

i got 4.6 what is GEMS vehicles and ECU?my range over burns a lot of gas and i have tried many times to use the cruise control but but nothing happends,also all of a sudden one of my doors in the back will not open with the alarm key

Buns a lot of gas as in you getting what kind of fuel economy?

Cruise is normally a vacuum leak.

Back door lock is probably a bad lock actuator. PITA to change.
