I know this thread is pretty old but I have an '11 LR4 with under 70K miles and my HID xenon bulb just went out.

Factory D2S HID xenon 35 watt 4300K bulb

The link below is some info on the factory D2S HID xenon 35 watt 4300K bulb that is standard in the eyeball headlights of the higher spec 3's. The 4's use something similar but not the D2S bulb.

After about ten years, I replaced both my bulbs due to their natural dimming over time. I also had to replace one at about five years as it just blew up - had to shake glass bit out of the assembly. I never did determine a reason for the bulb to blow up - it just did.

I ended up ordering off of Amazon. Indy wanted $210 for bulb and install. Looked on youtube and there was video showing how easy it was to remove grill and headlight housing. Due to my bull bar and lights, which had wires placed through them, it was a little more difficult. I can't imagine what the dealer would have charged.

Only bought one, I can't tell a difference between original and new one.

Thanks for your help.
