Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

Now don't ask me how to get it out. I haven't tried that yet. I've only got around 4k miles on my set, so no rotation yet.

Is there benefit or downside in stepping down to 18 wheels and tires for primarily on road daily commuting? Thinking about Evo Coarse .. mostly because I love the design . LR4 Will probably evolve into overland vehicle later on down the line but for now it’s my daily.

The only downside would supposedly worse handling with the larger sidewalls. You probably won't notice, though.

If you live somewhere with lots of potholes, you'll appreciate the extra sidewall.

smaller wheel tend to be a tad lighter, but even with the same weight, the barrel is closer to the axis of rotation, and end up with less inertia. That results in better accel/decel.

Hi all! I need to know whether BFGs 265/65-18 on Compomotive rims result in a larger track width (in an LR4) than the factory 255/55-19 (OEM rims). No other mods, spacers, etc. Anybody knows? I'm looking at buying property with a very narrow garage access driveway (tall curbs, the walls are not a problem) and even an extra inch on each side would complicate matters.

About a half inch on each side.
Gonna be close. Stock 19 is offset ET53, Compos are ET44? I believe. So 1/2 the difference. Tires are also about 10mm wider. So you’re moving the outside edge 14-15 mm further out on each side.

I just put on MT Baja Boss AT 265/65r18 onto Tuffant Kimberleys and have a fair bit of rubbing close to full lock on the corners of the frame horns.

I got two quotes for cutting/welding- one said $150-$200 total. The other shop said 6 hours @ $200/hr which including installing a battery isolator to prevent computer damage and fabricating a new piece to weld on. Second quote seems insane? Has anyone used a grinder to grind down the frame horns as opposed to cutting and welding?

Also, regarding tire pressure, I contacted Mickey Thompson and they recommended running 29 psi front and 33 psi rear, for regular around town driving. Seemed on the low side to me, so I called back a second time and spoke to a different person there and they said the same. Steering definitely feels squishy at that pressure, and I'm seeing here most people running higher pressure. Any idea why they'd recommend 29/33? Should I run higher for around town/freeway driving?

PSI depends on the load range. If they’re load range E, you need to be a few pounds higher than stock to be at the OEM carrying capacity.
