Does the 2006 LR3 Navigation show altitude?

This is a new truck to me. I am getting the GPS flag crossed out and I see the antenna error in the diagnostic but the honda dealership I bought it from is telling me that the 2006 just does not have altitude readings like my 2009 rrs does.

can anyone confirm this?

My '06 shows altitude in one of the off road navigation screens. It's not so useful to me here in CO since it only reads to 9900'. Most of our wheeling is above that.

That's really odd it is limited to 9900'
Makes no sense as
A) they flew it in a plane (allegedly) and
B) GPS doesn't care what altitude you are at...it just triangulates and spits out a number. Odd...

This was intriguing enough that I searched for the C 130 commercial because I know there was a screen shot of the NAV which showed altitude. Or at least I thought so... It doesn't look like the commercial is online anywhere any longer.

I did, however, find this exact same topic discussed here several years ago. And my exact same comments echo'd. HA!

My street view has started working again. but not altitude.

When on the street view on the top left corner it has a gps icon which is crossed out.

Is the altitude tied to the gps or does it have a different system?

While I don't know the specifics of your bugs, yes, altitude measurement requires GPS. In other systems I have used they need to sync up with one more satellite to be able to do all three axis' (X,Y requires less but you get the Z resolutions with more signals). So, it is possible you will get street location but not altitude until the system has better sync - really shouldn't be an issue though when you are outside driving around.
