Does that turn the idiot light permanently on?

Thanks for the suggestion, but after one day of ownership we adopted that procedure. In my opinion, start/stop mode creates a potential unsafe condition at non signaled intersections. Tks Billy H
Same here. Over two years now with a dead stop/start battery. The working stop/start function annoys me way more than the warning light. No strange electrical probs as yet, or corrosion, but I should probably get it out of there. Or give in and replace it and go back to turning it off every time I start the truck. I haven't attempted to switch it off using the GAP, but that's a good thought! May give my mechanic a call on that, first. As a related matter, I believe the start/stop battery once it dies will drag down the main battery. I was getting a few strange electrical probs recently, including erratic low volts on my main battery. Tested the start/stop battery and it was fried (lasted two years of just sitting under the hood). Removed it entirely and all the strange electrical issues are gone. Just FYI.
Excellent! Just the motivation that I needed to do the Stage 2. Thanks! This can be disabled permanently through a performance tune; I set that as a special instruction when I got mine. Not sure what they do in the process and if it can be done a different way, but it’s a permanent fix and the only way I know of.
