I'm currently running Kelly Safari TSR 275/65/R18's(32.1" diameter). I'm in no hurry for a new set, but am planning ahead for a piggy bank. I'm either going to go with another set of the TSR's or if I can manage to fit the Nitto Trail Grappler 285/65/R18's(32.8" diameter). I mainly want the Nitto's due to it's larger width which only consists of a .9" wider track. My question is will the Nitto's rub? I'm having no rub issues with the TSR's. I also have the Johnson Rods 2.5" lift that helps solve that problem. Thanks.

I can't imagine them not rubbing. That is a significant increase in diameter and width. Even with the JR lift, that sounds like it's pushing the envelope quite a bit.

Alright thanks. My 275/65's don't rub at all. I wasn't sure if the extra .9" would do any harm. I'll keep this in mind.

your 275s don't rub on road or off road? I have the rod-mod and it probably gets me about 2" (not 2.5) and I don't rub on road with my 275s but I sometimes do off-road, in extreme articulation situations.

Wider and taller...not sure. Hey try it! A little bit of rubbing isn't that big of a deal.

Houm, I've never rubbed that I'm aware of. I have even checked the wheel wells out for any marks. The tread on the tires don't show any either. I may or may not get the 285's. I mainly just want a tire that tracks wider. The Terra Grapplers track wider, but the tread pattern isn't very aggressive.

Yes; you've likely never rubbed because your lift is 1/2" taller than mine. I'm just thinkin' you will rub at that taller height. You could go 285/60R18. It's not as tall as your 275/65s but they are wider....

Height matters if you want to get larger tires. The ones shown here are 275-65-18 and are 32 inches. I would not accept the loss of articulation room and try to run this without a rod lift as you encounter problems. Increase the height and you will be much better off than forcing the tire.http://johnsonrods.com
