Interesting. I've run R4-S pads on several vehicles but don't ever recall having squeal either hot or cold. I did notice the dust level varied greatly from batch to batch, meaning pads I bought a few years apart (identical part number) sometimes had drastically different dust levels. Great pedal feel and street performance, but NOT cheap.Since UMBERTOB taught me how to read an online catalogue properly, I ordered the Porterfield R4-S pads for the LR4. I have them on MY12 RRS and they are fantastic, very low dust but a slight squeal when cold (from the rears).
Side note - I've consistently had problem with squealing on ceramic pads, of various brands, on other cars. Seems to be a fairly common complaint with ceramics, particularly when they are cold (i.e., backing out of your garage / driveway in the AM).
The PO of my LR4 apparently cured this problem by having the stock wheels painted / coated black. I'm OK with that solution, lol...
