Hi,

I just bought a 1997 Discovery automatic. After a day of normal driving, I noticed that every once in a while, either when I'm holding the brakes when stopped, or bouncing over a bump, the red light that says "brake" comes on. It's the one that comes on when the parking brake is pulled. What could this be? the parking brake isn't on when it comes on, and the brakes feel normal, not spongy or a long travel.

thanks.

you're not the only one wondering what could be causing this.

I have a 2000 Disco. Mine does it as well. So any if anyone has any suggestions please help us here. Is it a brake light swith or loose bulb. If you do know any directions on fixing it is great as well.

Happened to my '97 too. I thought it was the switch for the parking brake. It turned out to be low on brake fluid, that also makes that light go on.
