I bough a 2024 Evoque with only 5k miles that was a dealer courtesy care at AutoNation. Looks brand new inside and out. Anyway, I got the hard sell for the Vehicle Care Protection for 2 oil services (want to use for comprehensive scheduled services) at 21k miles and next major oil service for $1173. And the Vehicle Protection Plan for one time replacement of Brake pads/rotors, wheel alignment, wipers, battery (pro rata) and unlimited coverage as to belts and hoses, headlamps and bulbs for $2200. I think the oil service plan is not bad for the more comprehensive service. I think I am going to terminate the other plan for brake pads/rotors etc. Any thoughts from people who have the plans or know the vehicle and what may come up for servicing. How long do brake pads/rotors last with normal use? And do you really need a wheel alignment for the brake service. It seems like an issue that will never come up. Same for belts & hoses, battery etc. The term is 60 months. Thanks!

Under any circumstances. Do NOT change the oil at 21K intervals. The motor will be sludged up in no time.

Belts and hoses last 100k + miles.
Brakes (on Evoque) typically last 40k miles.
Battery, three years or so.

The best warranty would be the JLR CPO coverage. Basically, same coverage as the original bumper to bumper warranty.

Thanks. What would be the best interval for oil changes ? Also, can I just rely upon when the vehicle gives me a service indicator message? Andrew

Change the oil and filter, every 7,500 to 10,000 miles.
The service indicator message comes on at 21k miles. I'm no sure if there's a way to change it.

Got it. I would expect longer oil service intervals as it takes synthetic oil.

Oil and filter for one change can be purchased for less than $200 from reputable Rover parts vendors.
Extraction tool is less than $200 and will last for many years.
Oil filter tool is likely about $25 and lasts forever.

Do it yourself.....
