To be fair, it also usually only goes off when I am on vacation and parked outside someone's bedroom window. Usually a neighbor who didn't appreciate the 2:AM wakup call....We will all keep our fingers crossed but it sounds like you determined the problem, which is the hard part, and a potential fix.

...my second alarm issue (going off even after replacement, and then paperclip) still seems to be resolved by the lubrication mentioned above. No errant alarms or codes for 3 months.
Okay, I'm looking for suggestions.
How do you figure out what sensor is causing the alarms? I get 1 or 2 a week. I suspect it is a rear door that only causes an issue when my 5 year old doesn't close the door all the way, but I'm not 100% sure. So, I usually walk around and slam that door myself and don't get the alarms. It's all conjecture, though...
I had my mechanic check error codes and basic stuff but there is nothing in the system. I do not get any notes inside the car.
I was going to replace the door sensor just to see if that was it, but it's about a $350 job for part and labor. Don't want to spend that if it's just a guess...
