Just ordered the DDM 6000k 35 watt kit for my Low Beams (H11), Philips CV's for my fog lights, and Putco 194 LEDs for my corner lights. Can't wait to get rid of the factory yellow look.
I have had my DDM kit for about 2 years now with no problem at all - works awesome and looks great. The Philips CV for the fogs are nice as well.

I am interested in how the switch out to the LEDS for the corner lights go - could you be sure to post more about that? Could you provide a link to where you are getting them from?

Thanks, David

Glad to hear the DDM kit is working out well for you. Do the Philips CV fogs match the HIDs to some extent? I'd imagine anything is better than what's in there now...

As far as the LEDs, these are the ones I ordered... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0042FX7IQ/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. They seem pricy for 194 LEDs, but I am operating under the "you get what you pay for" premise here.

Do you happen to have a photo of your 6000k HIDs against a wall just so I can see a color comparison? I was debating between 5000, 6000, and 8000. If you don't have one, don't worry about it... I'll find out for myself soon enough. Thanks!

The Philips CV fogs are definitely more "white" than the stock halogen fogs, but certainly not as bright as the HIDs. Still, its' a good match.

I do not have a picture handy against a wall, but these are from 2 years ago when I first installed the lights - lots of updates since then. The pictures do not do the lights justice, but can give you a general idea:

They make a world of difference and look pretty awesome. It's hard to tell from the photos, but it's a very crisp white/bluish tint light and looks pretty OEM.

Oh, you know I was thinking about the corner LED lights as some other folks installed them as well and they look great. I forgot that they were only on the 2010 non-Lux LR4s that do not have the LED accent rings. Those of us with 2010 Lux and 2011 onward have the LED accent lights, so they actually removed the electrical components of the corner lights (they are now little metal balls with no socket/circuitry). I actually bought the same LED light and went to install only to find that there is none!

Keep us posted with photos - the HIDs are going to look sweet in your LR4.

Oh that's right, I do remember reading that they removed the corner lights in 2011. Oh well, your LED accent lights are way cooler in my opinion! I was actually bummed when I realized mine didn't have that option.

And thanks! I'll definitely post up some photos after the install.

Oh, you are not the only one! There are a few folks on here (specifically Count L.) who were not happy that the LEDs were not active on the 2010 non-Lux models. I remember him saying that it seemed as though they should work, but alas, were not actually configured.

Update:

I installed the LED corner lights... The Putco ones (for whatever reason) wouldn't seat properly as the base of the bulbs seemed too big, so I popped in a couple smaller (and extremely cheap) 194 LED's in there instead. They look great right now, but we'll see how long they last...

I also installed the Philips CVs in the fog lights and I'm not very impressed with the color. They are definitely brighter than the stock bulbs, but the color still seems too yellow. I will be installing the HID low beams on Tuesday or Wednesday, so I will post photos after the install. I'm hoping that once I get the HID low beams in, the colors will all come together, but if the fog lights still look out of place, I will probably convert those to HIDs eventually.

The Philips CVs are better than the stock halogens, but still not impressive compared to HID lights. For fog lights, I like them since they provide mostly white, but also that halogen look that seems to cut the heavy fog here in the SF bay area. I actually heard that yellowish light is better for fog, but I don't like the look.

The CVs are not amazing, but I do think they look good with the HID low beams. I will be curious to see what you think. I thought about going with HIDs for my fogs, as that would look awesome, but decided to just stick with the CVs.

Keep us posted - can't wait to get your opinion. Oh, if you are looking for a brand new set of DDM HIDs, I have an unopened box that I would be willing to send you. I ordered an extra set about 6 months ago for when my current HIDs burn out. I have had my HIDs for 2 years and they are still working awesome. I will be getting my new LR4 (with stock HIDs) in mid-June, so I don't need my unopened extra set. They are the exact set you have for your low beams - you could use them for the fogs maybe?

Let me know!

-David
