Defender the answer? It bested the GX according to MT. Up here a proper 110 defender is about $15k cdn more than the GX. Dealer lots are full of Defenders while the GX has a three year waiting list. Go figure... -

Yeah I am not looking to rock crawl. These days I do all my hard off-road on dirt bikes or ************ dual sports. That being said I do appreciate the LR4s capabilities and it's been good in the winter up here. Money no object I would be looking at an Escalade V. Who can say no to 680 HP... -

A few more: Lexus GX550, GMC Yukon AT4, Ineos Grenadier. All new so much more expensive than tossing in a rebuilt engine into the LR4. Why not try to diesel "upgrade" while you are at it? -

FWIW all the NGKs I have installed in the last 10 years were gapped appropriately out of the package so I think ou are fine. The 80 MPH cruising? Yeah that's the culprit. It's a box... -

You bring up a good point although it is quite hard to use the wrong plug with NGKs since there is only one spec'd. To the OP: Did you check the gaps before installing? Generally they are fine but... -

What year LR4? My originals in the 2010 were NGK 6C10 and the replacements were 7C10. At some point in 2011 LR started using 7C10s. I thought 6C10s were NLA? Poking around I can see NGK discontinued the 6C10s and replaced with 7C10s. You either bought old stock (possible) OR you may have... -

An orange warning is nothing. If it flashes red then you need to pay attention. I bet half the Land Rover products tooling around have an orange warning light on. -

Easy. This engine was designed over 20 years ago. The specifications that were reccomend are old history. The only novel about the 5.0L was the use of 5W-20 (which was much more rare 15 years ago when the LR$ debuted and the 925 FORD spec which related to 5W-20 and long oil change intervals... -

"synthetic" is cheap these days (Costco through warren distributing for instance) so no need not to use it. Mobil 1 EP used to mention Ford 925 about a decade back but that was dropped. Mobil... The Liqui Moly is likely ok as well. The 5.0L is not high tech and is naturally aspirated, your biggest enemy is fuel dilution from the DI. Whatever you use don't extend intervals and use a proper grade and all will be good. Up here Red line is more than double ($21/L) the cost of... -

Anyone end up buying their Grenadier order
Maybe you will get a late flurry of bids on this at the end. I would sell my 2010 with similar mileage for about $8000 US. It has many less mods but condition wise almost flawless so perhaps the market is coming back to reality here. Lets hope it heats up.
