If it were me, I’d try light compressed air from the other side blowing out with a soft vacuum cleaner brush to help pull it out. Done it many times. -

8-Speed Transmission Pan
Just an FYI....I replaced the pan on my 2105, did not remove exhaust or motor mount, and did not have any issues at all. I think it depends on the tools that you have on hand for this. IIRC I used some specialty short Torx bits with very small ratchet. -

HD vs non-HD package LR4
My wife has a 2015 Lux with HD. Will NEVER be fully utilized. 105,000 miles with oil changes every 7500 from 0-38k. 38K to 105 every 5-7k. She might trade up to a Landmark White/Beige with lower miles and equal maint to offset the HD loss. She will never take this truck offroad! -

Towing - I Have Not Done My Homework...
I’ve towed a heavy u-haul car trailer loaded with a BMW X5 for 500ish miles with no problems what so ever and no hitch ball reversal. I’ve also towed several other smaller cars (e46’s). I can’t imagine what your towing will exceed the weight of the X5 and car trailer combined. Regarding ball... -

I’m going to start using fill hole. Much easier to periodically ck levels. Had to drain and refill just to ck levels in frt/rear. -

SCV6 spark plugs
I have only cranked and run in the driveway to make sure it's firing on all cylinders. After looking at my plugs, and the wear, I would not wait. I should of changed around 100. Longer you wait you risk the plugs difficult to remove.
