Having worked for a dealer while in college, I would not count on that...they are human, and get in a hurry, and create shortcuts, I've seen it first hand.
If Arnott actually uses a NEW Bilstein Strut with their airspring, that's a good combination. I was told differently when I called them several years ago when replacing the front struts on my L322, and I was not at all comfortable with their response, as I was told they rebuilt the strut, and...
If I wanted to keep my truck for ever, regarding the trans, and regardless of mileage, I’d begin servicing my trans every 50-60k, using an appropriate fluid that YOU feel comfortable with.
So this is all very subjective, as everyone has their own opinions, based on their/my experience and...
Yep, I see that now, the long runners still place the cross pipe in same location. I was just hoping for some kind of break on this, but I still have not decided it I am going to work on it when parts fail or just find a good shop. As I get older (60), I find myself picking my projects, and I...
Actually haven't you seen the man made rocks/ramps at various Land Rover dealerships that are designed to display the suspension articulation/movement? Very similar to the way this car is parked, and those trucks sit for days/weeks at a time....I am guessing they are also LR approved displays...
A bit off topic, but looking at the design of the 126 vs the 133, I am hoping this procedure (rear cross pipe) is easier on the 126 since the heads (as they appear in drawings) appear to sit on the forward 3 cylinders, leaving more space between the ends of the heads and the Firewall. I guess I...
That's a nice feeling...
Yeah, Got a very small list to go back to dealer next week. My Warranty is up at the end of March. I'll hit that before mileage. Going to get them to do the BG Trans Flush as well, as I just don't want to mess with it. I'll do oil and brakes, and that's about it on this...
Interesting, I was looking for a LR4 for my wife, primary focus was the LUX, 2014-16 for her. So I found one bought it, got it home and found out it had the HD after I bought it. I didn't even look when I was searching, as it is for her....
I still like my L322....she likes her LR4!!!!
So I talked to BG today. Regarding the Trans, if you do a BG Flush, and refill with their BG TRANS FLUID, before 50K miles, then perform this service every 30K, they will pay up to $4K for trans failures. If you do the BG Flush, and go back with dealer/LR fluids then they cover up to $2K. They...
This implies using their tans fluid as well, I'll talk to the dealer when I take it in for some Warm stuff and see what they say....
Maximum reimbursement with BG transmission fluid: Plan 1: $4,000 US; Plan 2: $2,000 US
We don't plan on selling this one....
Anyone have any experience with BG: TRANS, DIFF, and Xfer Case Fluids? I'm going to change all at 50K, prob let the dealer do it, as I have too many other projects to work on. Dealer offering a partial warranty on these components (Trans, Diff, Xfer) if you change to BG before 60K and continue...
The soccer moms/status conscious are going to keep moving to the latest, and eventually the LR4 will be left to those that specifically love the style.
That does not sound good. My wife has a 2015 SCV6, and her's does not sound at all like that, super quiet other than a heat shield that is vibrating somewhere, which is under warranty and going back to dealer....
FWIW, I called Castrol several weeks ago, trying to better understand the "uniqueness" of the JLR Castrol Pro 0/20, could not get a definitive answer, but I was told they recently released the same oil, with a different label for the auto stores nationwide, but would take several months for it...
Inward, Insert, and it was a Mahle. Not even sure why I was stupid enough to post my opinion on an Oil/Filter thread, as it's all so subjective. Just do what you feel comfortable doing, that's what i do.....Been doing this for 40yrs.....
So I change the oil and Filter every 5k on all my cars. One time I was doing the X5, and the filter had compressed. It was a Mahle.
it's your truck....
no difference between 15 and 16, which might make it easier to find the HD/LUX, but, I would get the HD and the LUX. After taking my wife's off road a bit, no way I'd go with the V6 without the low range xfer. The 8sp is incredible with the v6, keeps you right on the power curve all the time...
