Rooftop Step via door latch stocking stuffer...

I didn't really want one of these things, but ended up getting it for Christmas. Has anyone used one or have thoughts on it? I'm not sure I like the pressure it would put against the plastic plate below our door latch. I also think with repeated use it'll scratch the paint there. If I keep...

    Roof Box Question - LR4

I stand corrected... you don’t need crossbars, just the side rails.

    the LR4 19inch tire dilemma

@manoftaste you threatened back in March to give us a review of the WRG3s and also these Contis.:itsme: I'm about to pull the trigger on a set of tires. Want to get them on before I start chasing snow storms. Was still leaning towards the Nokians for all reasons discussed. I also like the...

    Lagging accel pedal?

This is hysterical! My LR3 did this, my LR4 does this (but not as bad)... it's very annoying. I have found if I put either of those in Sport mode, it goes away for the most part. There is much less of a throttle lag. Actually, I'm not sure if my LR4 does this or not... I always drive in...

    Disco5 Trail Pictures?

I have heard that the Disco5 is excellent off road... There doesn't seem to be too much activity on this board and I haven't seen any off-road posts or pictures of your trail-hardened Disco5s. So if you have them, please share them! Would love to see the new Discovery with whatever racks...

Agreed. :D That's the first answer I came up with to the posted question...

Steering wheel shaking after rotor/pads replacement

My LR4 used to do this because it had aftermarket rotors installed. (I bought it used) When I first noticed it I brought it into my trusted local LR mechanic, he looked at the rotors and said, "that's why." Once I needed brakes I had the rotors replaced with the OEM part and the vibration...

    Roof Box Question - LR4

@TrinidadLR4 see my post below about how to remove the factory plugs so you can install your roof rails. Should save you some time and possible damage to roof or glass; Removing roof rail plugs Regarding rails and boxes, I've always used a Skybox as well on my LR3 and LR4. I forget the...

    New 2018 & 2019 Discovery 5 Purchase...

Oooooooh. That's not a good sign. When companies start playing those games, they are done in lieu of a layoff.

Dash Cam Recommendations for the LR4?

I like the look of this camera. Simplicity and capacitor option, over battery, makes a lot of sense. Most of the reviews are good but there are some sketchy negative ones (which I know are always there and are sometimes just idiots who didn't read manual). So I have one question... Is the...

Dash Cam Recommendations for the LR4?

Okay, thanks! I appreciate all the info you guys have provided. I'll look again. The last time I looked none of the pictures came up so I figured it was an old thread and the content was gone. I'll check again, though.

Dash Cam Recommendations for the LR4?

Yes... okay, I call it a Rain Sensor. :) I did not know it had 12V of power up there by the rear view, though. That's pretty cool. Any intel on how best to tap into those wires without breaking the sensor functionality? I assume there are at least 3 wires in there. (This is coming from...

Moisture sensor?!? What? This I need to know about! Didn't know we had power up there. Hmmm....

Dash Cam Recommendations for the LR4?

Thanks. Both of them seem pretty good. I like the look of that BlackVue, but for the price maybe I'll try a Street Guardian first.

Dash Cam Recommendations for the LR4?

I'm considering getting a dash cam, but want one that is no hassle and out of the way. I don't even want to look at a screen if I can help it. Just want it to work in the background so I can pull out footage if needed. Having it work on battery power when the car is parked would be even...

    Advice on peeling dash

Oh man... I hope this is not a normal wear problem. I feel like I just got over the LR3 and it's own cracking dash issues....

    Advice on peeling dash

Thanks for sharing the pics. That's an impressive amount of parts out of the car. I may have missed it above, but what was causing the dash to bulge up and split like that?

    Advice on peeling dash

The particularly concerning thing, from looking at your pictures, is that the seams between the leather pieces are pulling apart. That seems to indicate it is being pushed-up/stretched from underneath. What else would pull seams? I'd definitely get it looked at. Somewhere under there are air...

    Michilin, Goodyear or Nokian? (19")

Thanks, Tom. Glad to hear the Pirellis are working out for you. I unfortunately ran them once or twice on my LR3 and they did not wear well or ride well for me. I think I had uneven wear and they were "lumpy" tires that didn't rotate well. I ended up just having to keep certain tires in the...

    Michilin, Goodyear or Nokian? (19")

Looks like a solid tread. Don't recall hearing anything about them. No familiar with their quality, ride and wear.

I'll try that now. I have a 2013, though. Different infotainment graphics than the one shown in that vid.

    Battery and Voltage

You probably did the same searches as me... yes, for a fully charged battery with the engine running it should be between 13.7 and 14.7 volts. At rest it can be 12.6 when fully charged, but never below 12V. That said, I haven't checked my battery when running and with the LR, I wouldn't be...

    Michilin, Goodyear or Nokian? (19")

Thanks. I was looking at that and did not initially see the difference between the two. I thought it was just a JRLR marking thing for the same exact tire. Yeah, 149mph vs 168mph. I think the V rating version is fine if we go Michelins.
