Keeping Audio on without Engine running

There's a relay that will cut the power (you can hear it) after a set period. There's a post somewhere on the forum how to remove the relay and jumper the contacts. It's all located in the foot well fuse panel iirc. You just need to remember to turn stuff off so it doesn't completely drain your...

    Battery Life

Bad luck. Yesterday was the first time my LR left me stranded here at work. Earlier in the morning, it fired right up as usual. No weird electric gremlins noticed on the drive in. Made it to work without issue. Went to go home and pressed the Start button and "thunk" and then nothing. Interior...

Rear locker comes on more often than I thought

Oh yes, sport mode is really critical in certain off-road situations too. I keep it in Sport in the sand dunes all the time. It holds revs and downshifts much sooner, which helps keep momentum.

    Front Lower Control Arm Replacement

You really lucked out. Mine were considered wear and tear and came out of my own pocket.

Traded the single speed for an HD pkg

Congrats and kudos for wanting the best out of what the platform has to offer! I am surprised you wanted to keep your black laquer interior trim. I'd trade mine for the wood trim in a heartbeat. The black is a dust and fingerprint magnet. They look fantastic when clean, but that lasts a few...

    Front Lower Control Arm Replacement

I think most dealerships just try and change the entire LCA when the bushings go. Primarily, for more $ and also, less hassle removing old bushings. My dealer replaced my entire LCAs when mine went.

Friends don't let friends buy the new Discovery! ;)

    Axle CV Joint Failure

Wow. This is the first I have ever heard of this problem. Keep us posted with your findings!

    I am about to buy LR4 2016

Hello. I live in Qatar and own a 2013 LR4, so may be able to answer some of your questions. 1 & 2) The LR4 has a Terrain Response system with a Sand mode. Personally, I pop it into Sand Mode and turn off traction control. As you likely know, sand / dune driving is all about correct tires, tires...

    Fog Light replacement bulb options?

See, the OP said he wanted white to match, hence the Philips Diamond H11 recommendation. I took his request as an aesthetic issue. If you want functionality, yellows are the way to go! There was a thread on the forum here somewhere where someone bought some really high end yellows and did a...

    Fog Light replacement bulb options?

I bought LED fogs once. Never again. The color was fantastic, but they didn't output much light at all. I swapped those out for Philips Diamonds and they are perfect. https://www.amazon.com/Philips-Diamond-Vision-Halogen-Headlamps/dp/B00GD8OL62/

    Rear Brake Hose bulge

I would change those lines immediately.

My '13 let's me start without the key fob and drive far away...

If you keep your key fob in the same pocket as you cell phone, I find the exact same behavior. Cell RF interference, basically. I imagine a fob and phone in a purse would do the same. I now keep my phone in my left pocket and key fob in my right pocket. It happens far less frequently. It's...

Does the navigation suck or is it just me?

LR Nav is absolute dogshit. Even when my 2013 was brand new, it felt like a decade old generation sat nav. The electronics tech in the LR is the biggest let down across all their lineup. It's certainly not their strong suit! BMW's iDrive system should be the industry standard. Considering LR is...

    LR4 Steering Sounds

Same, I can only hear it when the stereo is off and AC is low / off. My truck is a 2013 and I have been hearing it for, at the very least, a year+.

    Battery Life

I honestly think environment takes its toll too. Out here in the middle east, I try not to push past 2 years. I know my Jeep friends seem to go through their batteries even quicker than that.

Rear locker comes on more often than I thought

Yep, I always see the lockers light up under hard acceleration. Don't even need to be "launching" the truck, just a firm foot to the floor usually does it.

    LR4 Steering Sounds

I don't think fluids are covered under any warranty terms anywhere. It's a consumable. But if it fixed your issue, there's something else going on if your fluid wasn't low. I have this same sound, but it hasn't bothered me about to complain about it yet.

This LR4 Drives Great in the SAND!

This is absolutely true Paul (for soft sand). When I describe sand driving, I am talking about soft dry sand. Anything wet / damp behaves entirely different. But for soft sand (dry beach / sand dunes), the best thing aside from a dedicated sand tire is well worn street tires. It is about float...

    Android integrated with factory screen

His first post said you don't lose factory screen / use. On the factory screen, you toggle back and forth from Android with the Nav button. (Assume you would prefer to use Google Maps or Waze from your Android screen anyway) At least, that's how I understood him.

I use the one I linked above.

I decided to keep my LR4 after all.

It's truly the old saying: "They don't build them like they used to." I am happily keeping my '13 V8 until the wheels fall off.

Glad you got a resolution! Thanks for posting as well, so others can reference this if it happens to them.

    LR5 Release Updates?
