    Corrosion on air strut tube

I've hit a few unavoidable 2"-6" salt water pools while beach driving in the desert. The underside of my truck looks like a horror show. I always get the underside pressure washed the day after one of those camping trips too. It seems that the salt water does its thing in a matter of hours...

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

I've had mine at the limiter of 210kmh (130mph) a few times. (Middle East 4 lane with barriers empty roads in the desert) It handles surprisingly well at those speeds. The wind noise is something else though. I keep it under 90/95 mph these days though with BFG KO2 tires. Big all-terrain tires...

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

If snow and ice is that big of a deal in your region, most people keep their stock 19" wheels and put a dedicated winter tire that could also accommodate chains when necessary. Put your 18" wheel / KO2 setup on outside of the winter months. This way you get the best of both worlds.

    2016 LR4 Intelligent stop/start not working

I've been in plenty of other cars that the stop / start feature is seamless and smooth. Chalk this one up to Land Rover just sloppily throwing it in for a bid to decrease fuel economy. Sounds like it needs a lot more refinement.

    2017 Discover; Diesel or Gas?

I rent diesel cars every trip I take to London. Most modern turbo diesels have absolute gobs of torque and I am always impressed with their acceleration. Like others have said, range is incredible with them. You're talking about an increase of fuel economy near 30-35 MPG for the 2016 Discovery...

LR4 V8 owners - check the coolant level in your expansion tank

Do you have a link to that TSB? I might bring it in for my next service. 2013 with no issues yet *knock on wood*

    Second Row Sun-shade.

Just wanted to add that I have had my truck nearly 4 years in the Middle East with 120F summers. I have never had an issue with the sun shades not latching, so I seriously doubt it is heat related.

HD Pack - after sale installation?

You could probably always buy the ARB air lockers. Again though, youre going to spend quite a lot either way.

    LR5 Release Updates?

Eh.. the same argument would be old timers whining about remote controls for a television. I have the Phillips HUE lights (IP wifi based control) in my living room for my home theater setup. There's unlimited configs and colors with the phone app, but what I like best is the remote control you...

    Showoff Your LR4

Pretty sure they were slapped on in the USA only to meet some NHTSA side impact regulations that went into effect. The newer side steps also had some impact absorbing parts thrown in.

    Showoff Your LR4

Great looking truck! I am not overly familiar with the newer '16s, but it looks like it is a Black Pack without black wheels? I see black mirror caps and side vents, which say Black Pack to me.. but the wheels don't jive. Are these things spec'd differently these days or did the dealer steal...

    LR5 Release Updates?

I was actually pondering this today. If there is a soccer mom depending on all 7 seats to lug a family around and the new fancy electric motorized gizmo breaks, is it still possible to manually get the seat in position and locked or will little Timmy be left behind with no useable seat? Call me...

    Warped Rotors

There's no way I would put up with that on a brand new vehicle. If it came down to it, I would Lemon Law it. Of course, only after exhausting all options with the dealer. Perhaps email LR NA and see if they are willing to work with you. As far as the issue at hand: The only thing I would think...

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

I honestly think the KO2s are some of the best tires on the market. If I had the choice, I would take the E rated tire every time. Between the truck's sheer weight loaded up and the off-road capability, I would want the extra plies. BFG took a legendary tire and upgraded it for modern use and...

    Tire rotation per owners manual

We are in kms over here and I am a bit lazy, so I just rotate every 10k kms which is about 6200 miles.

    Headlights LR4

I bought a set of LED fog lights through the @carid website. While the color was a nice white, the actual output of light was total shit. The stock bulbs put out far more. I basically threw them in the trash and purchased Phillips Diamonds from Amazon.

    LR5 Release Updates?

Keep in mind, with gas prices in the UK / Europe around $6-$7 per gallon, the diesel engine is what you find in the LR3/LR4 98% of the time over there. They are tried and tested engines. Gasoline (petrol) engines are very much a US thing on these trucks.

    LR5 Release Updates?

You compare it to your LC, but herein lies the issue with me. Before, you could plunk down around $60k for a nicely equipped LR4 that was capable of pretty much anything you threw at it with only a tire / possibly even a wheel change. The Land Cruiser, as nice as it is, has always been a $80-90k...

    LR5 Release Updates?

Heh, I find it interesting that nearly all brochure photos are taken in the city I live in here in Doha, Qatar.

    LR5 Release Updates?

Not impressed. Lower HP / Tq engine than my V8 '13, less turn radius, less departure angles, lower ground clearance, no split tailgate, bigger truck. All of those negatives and you have the pleasure of paying nearly +$15,000 USD more than what my truck cost when new. NO THANKS!!

Yea, I always rotate my tires (including the spare) the following way: **Four-wheel drive should use the rotation pattern on the RIGHT of this photo**

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

Hi @deddy ! I agree with everything you have written. I see you are in the UAE. I am in Qatar and have had my truck for about 3.5 years now. I also ran 285/60 on 18" compos. My tire choice was Nitto Dune Grapplers, which are excellent on road and sand. Poor-average in mud and rainy roads, which...

LR4 USB Socket - Routing to Phone?

I was wrong about the memory, howerver: The problem we found is that a nearby magnet will affect the internal magnetic sensors inside the phone. The compass won’t read correctly,” explained Michael Paul, an engineer at K&J, “What’s worse, if you stick a strong magnet to the phone, you could...

LR4 USB Socket - Routing to Phone?

Is that a magnet holding the phone? In my experience, magnets and electronics are a huge no no! They can wipe memory along with a host of other issues!
