Maybe you have a slowly seeping valve cover? I have the issue, waiting for my next oil change interval to replace it on the passenger bank. My leak does leave a few drips of oil on the ground here and there but its mostly leaking from the back, which basically avoids the exhaust and drips... -

Nah, just a bad design. I saw my old tensioner and guides, the steal pin on the tensioner almost wore right through the aluminum guide, perhaps more frequent oil change intervals would help but I don't think fuel quality has anything to do with it. -

Sounds like whatever the issue was, it is or should be covered under warrant even if that means engine replacement. Too much of a coincidence that the motor needs to be replaced 400 miles after a timing chain job with only 54k miles on the clock. -

Just exceeded warranty, where is everyone buying oil and Filters from to perform fluid change
I have a 2010 with the V8 which calls for 5w20 but I found that the best source for the Castro Edge oil is Walmart, goes for $21-$24 a 5qt jug. As for the filters, Amazon has been a great source for OEM/Mahle filters - don't forget to change your air filter, spark plugs, diff/transfer case and... -

Replacement engine
These 5.0 V8 replacement engine prices seem to be rediculously high at the moment, 10k for a remanufactured engine also seems high since 10-13 LR4's with about 120k go for about 13-16k, well at least in my area. But if you're set on a rebuild, I would suggest getting a used motor and rebuilding... -

A few updates: Replaced all of the drive train fluids: Front and rear diffs, transfer case and the transmission fluid including replacing the pan with a replaceable filter (the BritPart kit from Atlantic British) - thanks for the link to that transmission post! I have an open diff on the back, my understanding is that its the same gear oil as the front in this case.
