I just picked up this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0896QBR9B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Overall, assembly and quality seem on par for price. The buttons have a very positive clicky. I'm thinking of mounting the box in my spare battery location as I have no...
And done! Here’s a nice before and after. I have additional adjustments to make to close the gaps to the arches and headlight but overall quite happy with the entire package.
Getting closer…
Does someone have a pro tip on routing the pos and neg winch cables to the batt and ground post? I can’t remember where or how but someone said to remove the fuse box? Yikes.
Project Winch Install has picked up life again. I think I’ve finally accumulated all the little
Bits and pieces to make this a success.
In my case, I was pretty confident I’d need a longer ground cable to reach near the battery. Ordered one of those. Then realized I needed the synthetic rope...
Argh I have this bookmarked somewhere but can’t find it. From what I remember from posts, there’s one maybe behind and above the brake fluid/booster drivers side?
Hey, can you clarify this? Wouldn't moving the carrier to a higher point, via the ox hitch, be better than having it on the OEM unit which hangs down however far? There's a Rigd multi-swing for sale near me so considering it and trying to figure out how low it would be on the OEM quick-receiver...
I got my D3 rear arches on in preparation for mounting a Summit bar. I didn’t want to irreversibly trim my front painted arches in case I ever sold the bar and truck separately. It’s growing on me!
Pricing out a US Kaymar is about $3,100 plus shipping and the T44 is roughly $2,500 spec’d the same with dual jerries, also plus shipping. It’s definitely an investment! But for days I’d be piddling around town, good to know the swings can pop off. Maybe next year….
Does Kaymar have any US distribution? Otherwise there’s no way shipping a bumper makes sense from down under. Just curious as it’s something I’ve looked at but not if I gotta pay shipping from Oz.
Well, in searching around it looks like there was a group of us who actually liked the look of the D3 arches, plus they are more rugged than whatever harder plastic the painted arches are. In my case, the ARB summit bar requires that you cut your front arches. The gentleman I bought it from had...
How do you all feels bout D3 arches? I received a set gratis when I picked up a used summit bar and am trying to decide if the look works. Removing the painted one to experiment proved a delicate task as the actual clip mounts on the arch were bending and close to breaking because the clip...
What shop did you use? Just curious. I mean the only thing I'd do since it's your first time is just to connect the trailer and triple check all lights and brake lights are operating. My small trailer has LED lighting and apparently there's not enough resistance there to trigger the truck to...
Awhile back one of you all advised me that the Terrafirma winch was from Superwinch. I was looking for something more affordable as I didn’t feel I’d be able to fully appreciate a Zeon Platinum and their ilk. As it turns out, as I was researching Superwinch, they released this new model in a 12k...
Ahhh great point. I’d not considered saving on the sliders and just adding in a few pieces of underbody plating. Thanks. I’ll got check back with Ben and also current state of Asfir offerings.
Help me out all. I just got my quote including shipping and taxes for the T44 sliders. Wow! Now while I have grand dreams of over landing down the pan-American, realistically I’ll be cruising some fire trails and easy trails in the Sierra. Is there a more wallet friendly slider out there that...
