vibration at idle - motor mounts?

I got them from FCPEuro, along with the throttle body gasket and oil/filter. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/land-rover-crankcase-breather-valve-repair-kit-febi-bilstein-lr133579

Looking to purchase timing chain tools

hardware store usually has a selection of different diameter dowels. See if a #2 pencil will do the trick, the taper from the sharpener will come in handy (assuming the pencil isn't smaller than the hole!)

vibration at idle - motor mounts?

PCV valves are on order already with my oil change kit, I figure they've had a good run, no harm in just putting new in at this point. If it's every 13 years I'm OK with that.

vibration at idle - motor mounts?

It idles about 600 RPM, no surging. I'll try turning the AC off and see if it makes a difference. I do plan on removing and cleaning the throttle body this coming oil change as I keep getting a MAP sensor out of range CEL thrown, despite replacing the sensor. I'll also check fuel trims, good...

Looking to purchase timing chain tools

I'd try a shop vac across part of the opening, I've had good luck with that where the gap lets air in to circulate and pick up the debris.. Was this all gunk that was underneath the injector so you couldn't remove it beforehand? Maybe give it a vacuum once the injector starts moving, but...

Thank you for documenting this so well.

vibration at idle - motor mounts?

Alright, so I popped the hood open and did the power brake test in D and R, and while I can see a tiny bit of rotation in the motor from the torque, I don't see much movement at all. I guess the good news is that it's not likely to be my motor mounts, but the less good news is I don't know...

vibration at idle - motor mounts?

Intake tube is above the shroud: I'll check for engine movement when I have a helper. Haven't had a chance to get underneath, but the 125k oil change is coming up and I do tire rotation at the same time so it'll be up on jack stands.

vibration at idle - motor mounts?

My wife noted today that the LR4 seems to have some vibration in the seat and steering wheel when at idle. I've noticed it too but didn't mention it to her, so it makes both of us noticing the same thing. Search is rather light on details for how to DIY this, a mention of dropping the front...

    2015 LR4 Head Gasket Replacement

I had the coolant system freshened up in 2022 at an independent shop for about $1500, water pump, front and rear crossovers, fan and serpentine belts, some of the hoses. Not the thermostat housing though, as they didn't recommend it be replaced if there were no symptoms. You had a bit more...

    Coil electrical connector removal (x8)

@Longtrail, could you snap a closeup picture of the plug once it's disconnected? Are you supposed to push the gray tab toward the plug (perpendicular to the direction of connection)? Looking to document how the retention mechanism works... Thanks!

    2012 LR4 coolant leak

Can you tell where it is leaking from when you attempt to fill? Maybe you're "lucky" and it's just the coolant expansion tank that failed. But generally, a coolant low warning is indicative of a more serious issue, especially if the condition of the cooling system is unknown.

No fluid coming out when bleeding rear brakes

I'm a bit confused by your description, what do you mean by "tried pumping it out at the wheel" and "credating a vacuum"? The pressure bleeder I've used (Motive brand) will add fluid to the tank as you go (so you don't accidentally run it dry - careful to release pressure before loosening the...

No fluid coming out when bleeding rear brakes

A normal pad change shouldn't require a brake bleed. They used to be setup in diagonal circuits, but now with ABS the ABS pump tends to treat each wheel individually. Make sure the reservoir cap is loose so that air can come into the reservoir as the fluid works its way through the system...

Do you have lift rods installed? On bump stops you might be outside the normal range of motion for the height sensors.

    All is lost?

Do you have a way to read codes? I'd try to get that before running it again. Not all codes trigger a check engine light.

What were your readings with ignition on/engine off? Did they look OK? The warm readings look good.

    stainless steel brake lines

How did the stainless lines go? I'm almost at 125k miles on the 2012, and thinking maybe it's a good idea to replace them. I haven't noticed any bulging when doing tire rotations and have no issues with the braking.
