LR3/4 lovers, fret not. Replacement maybe on the way.

oh yeah, so is mine :) Need to spend on a decent car cover to keep it from catching any type of seasonal flue or virus, etc, ha.

LR3/4 lovers, fret not. Replacement maybe on the way.

Didn't know that there was a bit of a rivalry between the fellow LR3 and 4 owners :) Guess some amount of it could be healthy :) Before owning a 4 for about five years, I owned an '06 3 for six years. I feel 3 was more well-planted, floatier, and more settled at highway speeds regardless of...

Well, ladies and gentlemen, keep em coming. Can print it out and hand it to them if you'd like. Also, i think it would be great if there are any soccer moms here who can share their thoughts. I am about to pickup a set of takeoff rims for my snows from a couple who owns a sport and an LR4...

LR3/4 lovers, fret not. Replacement maybe on the way.

Will be hitting the LA auto show this weekend, any messages/thoughts of love and affection that you guys may wanna convey to the TATA/LR suits up there? I am never shy expressing my personal thoughts to them in a straight manner whenever I have the opportunity to catch them in person and would...

6k to fix?!! Man I am dreadful of keeping this thing out of warranty. Although I did brave my '06 LR3 for six years, two years out of warranty and about 49k miles. Wonder if I should start investigating an extended warranty for my '16, I do have about 12.5k miles on it.

Also, from what I gather, they seem super open to ideas/suggestions via their twitter/instagram/facebook page, etc. The first model may not be an LR3/4 like, but if they do well and see a market, successors could be. I personally am hopeful as a customer/consumer, and will shoot them some...

oil change frequency poll under normal driving conditions

2016 and don't reach 15k miles per year but do the change per year anyways. Didn't see the time option up there mr. rick :) Which box am I clicking? Last year had about 6k miles and the service advisor suggested to still do the oil change as according to him the oil deteriorates over time...

LR3/4 lovers, fret not. Replacement maybe on the way.

Ha, indeed. But what I meant to say was if you compare it to our modern world of today LR3 is pretty simple, mechanically and electrically, a nice balance so to speak. So if they end up making something that does not exceed that balance electronically that would be great. For example, along...

    Tires rotation pattern

Thanks, Primetime. Hope you did too. After doing some research, I have been doing five-tire rotation ever since I have gotten a new set of five, and this is the pattern I have been following (pattern G, the one on the right): I wanted to include the spare in the mix for all of them to wear...

    the LR4 19inch tire dilemma

Congrats, looks great on that rim. This tire requires about 700 to 800 miles of easy break-in period and you will start to feel and notice the overall difference slowly. I've been experimenting with PSI levels on mine (19" stock size), what levels are you running on these fronts and backs?

Making a case for the D5

Would love to be able to accurately weigh my truck if possible to see what the real deal is with hd package and some other options. Looked up online, but not much comes up. Most scales seem to be for semis and other type of big transporting truck trailers type rigs, so those scales +/-...

Making a case for the D5

True, but then the curb weight of LR4 dropped to 5655 in the later years up until 2016 I believe when it jumped back to 5850.
  17. M

Making a case for the D5

Thought the brochures/documentation said it started around 5655 LBs or similar, whereas LR3 started around 5700 LBs or so, No? I know that 2016 LR4s start at 5850 LBs and that could be primarily due to the running boards and the associated mounting hardware.

Making a case for the D5

I am sure they could have attempted to achieve the same with two piece gate and that may have meant another electric motor and added costs. Well, you absorb that cost when you are setting it up for a 65k tp 75k unit. And the vehicle would have retained its functionality. Also...

Making a case for the D5

Agreed. Will take functionality over luxury anytime if functionality/durablilty was the cost for luxury. LR3 was less luxurious but had a more solid feel inside the cabin. I started noticing therm being lazy engineering and design wise when I saw a few things in LR4 which were not better than...

    Another Defender hint?

Sure, and I do appreciate and understand the idea of sharing parts across the lineup as I mentioned above. I also am aware about LR' stated position. And certainly parts such as instrument cluster/gauges, buttons/knobs, locking mechanisms, engines/drivetrains, drive shafts/axels, batteries...

Making a case for the D5

Stopped by the local dealership and sat in a D5's driver' seat of a display model recently. Had to raise the seat to mimic the LR3/4' command view, still not the same after raising the seat by quite a bit and raising the seat makes your head get pretty close to the ceiling and the A-pillars...

Stumble upon this, quite exciting, could be the real winner if done right: https://www.motortrend.com/news/land-rover-defenders-spiritual-successor-one-step-closer-production/ “ideally this car we want it to be as reliable as the toyota land cruiser”, yes please. “It does need to be as...
