    Ok so the mystery has been solved. No signs of oil leaking or burning but the oil was measuring 6 qrtz low. Turns out a breather tube cracked in the oil pan and the intake was full of oil. Surprised the car didn't throw off any errors especially from the oil measurement on the dash.

    So how does one really know if these cars are burning oil? The electronic measurement gauge is finicky and blunt on the best days and more oil goes in that comes out. Are we just overthinking and over paranoid?

    dont disagree, i have no regrets. happier to spend the money on this than to suffer depreciation on new cars over and over.

    i have crossclimates on a cx5 and jeep grand cherokee. they have been great so far but havent had snow here in the northeast. on the LR4 i have used nokian wr4g for years and those are great in the snow. currently running contis that have been very comfortable. have defender LTX on an escalade...
