No Start after replacing coolant temp sensor

Hey Community,

My 2005 LR3 was struggling for a few days and the Gap tool said the coolant sensor was the culprit. From what I have read it was causing the vehicle to run rich and leading to misfires in cylinder one. The aux fan was also on all the time on high by the end.

I replaced the coolant sensor today and gave the throttle body a bit of a clean as well. When I put it all back together the LR3 wouldn’t start. There are no engine codes or anything, but it just won’t start at all.

the starter tries, and the engine will fire up, only to sputter out immediately each time. I only unplugged the MAF sensor and coolant sensor, and they are both reconnected.

It started and ran before I replaced the sensor and messed with the throttle body. Now not so much. Could the engine be flooded or something? Does the throttle body need adapting after cleaning?

I have reset the vehicle and the adaptations using the GAP TOOL.

Does anyone have any idea what’s going on here?

A no start could be caused by excessive throttle body cleaner in the intake.
You can hold the throttle wide open, while cranking and see if that clears it out.

How do you hold it open when it’s electric and not by wire? I figure that it’s something to do with the throttle body, but how do I fix it or readapt it?

Holding the throttle wide open while cranking shuts off the fuel injectors. Also know as "clear flood mode."
