I can't imagine it went 40k without an oil change. I would assume there was at least one in that time period that wasn't reported to carfax. Certainly, none of the DIY work on my cars will be reported to carfax.

I called the Land Rover dealer it was serviced at in CA to get history on the air suspension and there was a lot of service data to sort through. The service guy looked and started to end the call saying he didn't see anything in the records just regular maintenance and I would thank him and then he would keep going. For probably 10-15 minutes he kept at it until he came upon a 2019 log entry. Its highly unlikely it went that long w/out a oil change because whoever owned it before me was meticulous. That LR4 was so clean when I bought it last July it looked new. No dust between the seats on the floor, door jambs were spotless, etc.I can't imagine it went 40k without an oil change. His video does sound like chain slap, so maybe ours is slapping too. I tried moving my chain before and after the chain work and before I could push the chain and move it but not afterwards. My sound is on the driver's side mid engine area. If I could reproduce the problem then I would take it into the shop and get their opinion.
