I want to hear about problems/carnage/issues.
Me too! I wish there was a very detailed (non press release stuff) blog or expedition report available. It looks like an amazing journey, but I want to know how it works for people who don't have the back-up of corporate Land Rover. That is probably the last thing you will hear about from this trip.
I wish they would post more details about the route. Everything I read says its for bikes and smaller vehicles.
Very interesting! The Trans-Am Trail was originally put together by Sam Correro, and it is constantly being refined and adjusted (as existing trails are paved and/or become private land.) It was designed primarily for motorcycle travel - Land Rover must be the first to adapt it for auto travel in its entirety - and Sam sells the route maps in various forms, to recover some of the costs of his considerable research over the years. As such, it wouldn't be kosher for Land Rover to publicly disclose the exact itinerary, TAT maps are available for purchase here: http://www.transamtrail.com/
