Yeah, the new RRS is pretty big. It's pretty much a RR "sported" and "shorted" and I guess this explains the very high price. I'm going to likely get the outgoing RRS and trade it up in three-years and get this beast. The RR is nice... but a little too rich looking now. What I like about the outgoing RR, is that it could be driven by a contractor w/boots, or banker... or even a surfer in flip-flops, and respected in all ways. Whereas the new RR, is very banker, suit-like, and honestly, a contractor would look out of place driving one of this onto a construction zone.
I just can't wait to see the deal you get on a 2013 RRS, the color, etc.

It's going to feel a bit like your LR4 (i.e., familiar), but also pretty new to you - so I think you will really like that aspect. I know when I drove a 2011 RRS on a short trip I was a bit amazed at how much sportier it handles - definitely a different feel than our LR4. Although, it felt very familiar.

I am excited about my LR4, but definitely went back and forth if I should also get an outgoing RRS. As for the 2010-2012 years for the RR - I love them.

I am very excited about the outgoing RRS, I feel that I've mentally worked out a decision and now it's just a matter of timing.

Funny thing is, SJ has just posted a Fuji White RRS w/Arabica... but I noticed the Arabica doesn't have that nice white stitching that your LR4 will have. So I don't like that combination as much now. That helped narrow it down a bit. I can now live without the Arabica for outgoing RRS and not regret it down the road.. me feel better.

BTW, I'm glad the outgoing RRS feels familiar, somewhat like the LR4, because honestly, I love how the LR4 feels, even its handling is fine... I love that commanding, heavy feel... and don't want to lose that completely with the outgoing RRS. If it handles better on the highway... big bonus.

I'm glad you confirmed for me even more why I need to get it.

So I'm heading down to San Jose Land Rover tomorrow to look and possibly purchase a '13 RRS Lux. I have one that I'm pretty interested in and it's been given the green light by my significant other. Wish me luck...

Awesome!!! If you are working with Eric, tell him we know each other. Maybe that way we can both get a better deal - haha!

Send me a link to the one you are interested in, I would love to see!

If you get it, email me and I'll meet you up at the rest stop on 280 North to take a quick peak. LOL!

I am so excited!

:) I really hope Eric is there tomorrow. And I'll be sure to make the connection as well. Maybe we will both get a good deal hehe...

I'm really excited... and nervous too. I really love my LR4 and it's going to be hard to see her go. I have no idea how I'm really going to feel tomorrow until I test drive the RRS. But I have a feeling I'm going to fall in love with it and I know it'll fit my needs.

I'm looking at this one

http://www.landroversj.com/2013-Land-Rover-Range-Rover-Sport-San-Jose-CA/vd/14151277

I actually fell in love with these wheels. I used to hate them. But I really like them and they also showcase the '13, whereas the other two styles were from '12. And no one seems to have the turbine wheels. But, I would consider another version/combo. But need to see all of them in person to know for sure.

PLUS, the crazy rims would look sick painted in that nice semi-gloss black that the grill and side vents are painted... just like you said!

And, I can also get another set of wheels down the road. You'll be the first person I e-mail if I get one. I can't wait to see what happens.

If I can't get the right deal I may try another dealership. BMC is an option too as they have a few I like and worse case Land Rover Marin...

There are a lot around to choose, so we'll see. But keep your fingers crossed for me :)

I also love how much goodies are packed into the RRS HSE Lux. It's just so loaded...

Hey Count,

Your first choice looks awesome - love that color. I also love the green as well. I really think those wheels will be sweet in satin black. If you do decide that route, I have a great contact in SSF where he does it that day and arranges with a tire shop to mount and balance.
The whole job would be around $500.00.

If Eric is there, tell him you know me (David West), he will definitely know my name and LR4 order.

I assure you that you will love the way the RRS drives - trust me.

Can't wait to hear your decision. Best of luck!!!!

Awesome! Thank you so much, David. I'm heading down in about an hour. Getting the kid fed and the truck is all ready and prepped. I always clean my trade-ins... Drives my wife crazy haha... but I think it helps negotiate condition. I took the guards off as well. Leaving the rubber mats. Original carpet mats are still new. And my LR4 has 27,000 miles. I thought it had more. I have the car set to km because my wife is a metrics minded Canadian and I thought it was over 30K... but my math was way off. :) So I should get a really good trade-in value for it. The payoff is below $34K. And it's in excellent condition minus that scratch on the left side front door handle. Seats are perfect... carpets perfect... I'm really, really excited! Paint is mint and not one single paint blemish or ding. Rims are new/only four or so months old and the tires are practically new as well. I bought new Lux rims and tires late last year. I'll update soon. BTW, my full name is Stephen Laszlo. :)

Awesome - how exciting!

Keep me posted and best of luck. I can't wait to see if you will be coming home with a 2013 RRS.

Hopefully you will still linger on the LR4 forum and not completely jump over to the Range Rover side. ;-)

Drove home with a new '13 RRS Lux.

http://www.landroversj.com/2013-Land-Rover-Range-Rover-Sport-San-Jose-CA/vd/14179529

I'm totally exhausted, dealership fatigue, will write more once I get my marbles together.

I ended up getting Ebony interior, after seeing it in person, I totally fell in love with it. The white contrast stitching is go elegant. The leather is absolutely supple... never felt such wonderful leather in my life. I just love my choice. I thought I would never get black in a Land Rover, but it was just too hard to pass up. I drove a few combos and although I thought I had to have Almond no matter what, I found the color nice, but so much like my LR4, the change was welcome.

I'll write more later tonight, how it drives etc.

I hope you guys will let me stay in the LR4 area though... I don't want to leave this area. :)
