I'm a little weary of the SC V6... especially that it's the lower rated motor. They should have gone with the higher output... 340 seems a little non-premium. BUT... need more data right.

One thing interesting about the new RRS, is that it really doesn't date the outgoing too much. I would consider a outgoing SC V8 at a discount if that opportunity should ever arise. It has a nice classic look.

If we didn't just get the '13 LR4, I would now probably consider an outgoing RRS SC if it came at a deep discount thanks to the new RRS. But we are very happy with the LR4 (and it should tide us over for 2-3 years so we can see what is in store next for Discovery and Defender in the US).

Someone mentioned this on another thread, that the new RRS didn't date the outgoing exterior design and I agree with that 100%. The outgoing looks classic... and it hasn't outdated our LR4s either. What it did outdate is the technology, like nav, some driving dynamics and such, but that's not a big deal considering that the current platform is built like a tank and that's where the money is.

This is exactly how I feel. I just ordered a 2013 LR4, but thought about going with a 2013 RRS. I really need the 7 seats and I just can't bring myself to get away from the Discovery. If the Defender ever comes to the states, I'd get that.

I'm still having trouble coming to terms with the 340hp V6. It just seems so economy.

:)

Thanks, David. I've had my eye on all of those. I am hoping LRSJ gets photos up of their new stock as well.

The Green one is my favorite, but wish it had the turbine rims. There was one a month or so ago that sold pretty quickly.

Which are your favorite wheels on the outgoing RRS?

I'm stuck between the black or tan interior. I like the black, but I'm not really into black interiors. But the white stitching is nice. But I'm worried my wife's jeans will turn that nice white stitching into blue stitching. Then there's the tan with white stitching that could pose the same issue. I saw one once with brown stitching but only once.

I'm getting the outgoing RRS itch bad. haha

The outgoing is a real option for sure. But of course, I just built a LR4 and for what I want it's coming out at just $60. Just six K... haha...

I also like the turbine wheels. Though, to be honest, I think RRS look great with powder-coated black wheels. The Aintree Green is sweet, but like you, I do not care for those wheels. Black interiors are nice, but I feel like I get bored very easily. I think I would like a black interior if there were some contrasts - like maybe white or red contrast stitching, etc.

I currently have the Almond/Arabica interior and it's held up quite well, though we don't wear jeans so hard to tell if it would have turned blue. I clean and condition my HSE seats about once a month and they are still in amazing shape.

I have been looking pictures of my ordered LR4 HSE Lux Windsor Arabica leather seats and they are really nice - I love the lighter contrast stitching! :) I wish the other trim had some ebony, but I really wanted the dark brown seats. Look how sweet these look:

My favorite combination is still the Aintree Green Range Rover with the dark orange interior. I see one of these in my neighborhood (a 2011) and I LOVE it - looks amazing!!!

You are lucky, there are LOTS of outgoing RRS options out there, but you could also get a fully loaded LR4 for the same price. ;-)

Decisions, decisions, decisions! :)

The Arabica is by far the best color. I would love to find an outgoing RRS with Arabica. Impossible unless I order. It's amazing, when you build the outgoing RRS HSE, just about everything is included in the price.

LR is now nickle-and-diming for everything. I mean, geez, even for the new RRS SE, they charge for front fog lights... push you into a very expensive package. I don't like the new pricing structure at all.

The outgoing RRS is packed with goodies... and everything I want, and would never regret, is $68K. Yes, decisions, decisions.

I think getting the outgoing RRS and keeping it for three-years is the best way to go. It'll give me the more stable highway ride and plenty of off-road grunt.

Yeah, I lose the 3rd row, which is fine by me, I've used them all of twice since I've owned my LR4.

As for the jeans, you're lucky you and your wife do not wear them. I think you mentioned your wife only wear dresses - you're a lucky man!

My wife on the other hand is a pain in the rear... but I love her dearly. Although we do get jean dye on the leather it cleans right off. But white stitching would be an issue.

If I get the outgoing RRS she'll have to put down a pad in the back and I'll do the same upfront. When I wear jeans I actually lift myself up and sit down on the seat so I don't rub dye on the leather... but my wife lazily slides her rear-end over the seats like she's spreading butter on toast.

It annoys me to no end but what are you going to do. I'm always cleaning my wife's seats too... and she has ash color interior. It's beautiful, but requires me to keep an eye on it.

So, yes... I could order the LR4 with all the goodies for $60K or grab one of these loaded HSE RRS for $68K. Although I love, love my LR4, I'd love to try something different and need some of the driving dynamics. And I think the RRS would fit perfectly. I could still go camping, off-road (meet up with you one of these days haha) and also go on long road trips and feel a bit more stable.

I guess the outgoing RRS is still in production until the end of the summer?

I think the 2013 RRS sounds like something you definitely would be happy with - even if it is just for 3 years. Give it a couple months and I think you can continue to get better and better deals as production comes to a close soon. Like I said, I think many of the RRS folks are going to hold off and wait for the 2014 model.

I have gone back and forth a few times with possibly getting a 2013 RRS, just to switch it up a bit and do something different, but in the end I decided to stick with the LR4. I plan to keep the new LR4 for at least a few years and see if hopefully they bring the Defender to the US.

I need to stop looking at 2013 RRS or I will regret ordering my 2013 LR4 - hahaha! :)
