Just wanted to chime in and say that, thanks to instructions here, I was able to swap out my H11 fogs to some PIAA plasma yellow bulbs. It was a piece of cake really. Only slight snafu was a lost clip on one of the trim rings. I took off the central lower spoiler piece and partially detached the lower fascia just in front of and below the wheel well and the lost clip just fell out. No problem really.

Got the bulbs from Amazon for $65. I wanted to try yellow bulbs because they're supposed to improve contrast over white bulbs in fog and rain. I have used fogs for aesthetics in the past as well as to compensate for inadequate low beams, but factory HID is pretty good so these will be only for inclement weather on the LR4.

I took some pics if anyone is interested. Now I have to tackle the high beams. For some reason I thought that the car had xenon low and high beams, but guess I was wrong...

Yeah, ditto on the pics!
Hey Stephen,

I am really curious to see the yellow lights, as I know you were interested in them on a previous thread. I bet they would really help in the SF fog! :) I was just out your way earlier this week, as I brought my family to the SF Zoo. It was pretty funny, as I saw TWO (yes, TWO) brand new LR4s in the parking lot (one white and one black). One was from San Jose and one from BMC. How ironic! :)

That's so funny! I'm going to have to bring my son there soon! Yeah, the yellow would be best in the fog, I was worried the yellow though, from an exterior, aesthetic perspective, would clash with Izmir Blue. But I'm so tempted to try. I had them installed on an older BMW I had and the vision was pretty cool, very yellow and good range. PIAA is a very good brand, but very expensive and have read that lifespan can be short lived. We gotta hang out one day. Maybe we can put together a meet with other Bay Area LR4 and LR3 owners?

Ok ... Here's the final product (phone camera):

Mid installation daytime pics, PIAA yellow on one side and factory fog on the other:

The trim ring around the foglamp needs to be removed by grabbing its inner edge and pulling straight out. There are a series of spring clips on the back that keep the trim ring in place:

If one of the clips falls off, you will have to retrieve it by removing the central lower wind deflector under the front bumper. This has four plastic screws that you just quarter turn and they release. You need to remove this in order to remove the black plastic trim piece under the side corner of the front bumper, at the front bottom edge of the wheel well. This has three metal screws holding in on from the bottom. You do not have to remove any of the other screws holding this in place. Taking the three bottom screws off will allow you to access deep to it, where my clip was hiding:

I put some blue painter's tape over the holes in the bottom of the fog lamp recess to prevent any other screws from falling down and potentially getting lost:

The three screws that hold the foglamp in place have to be removed. As already stated in this thread, there are four screw holes, but only three screws. Remember where they go because putting them back in the wrong place could potentially mess up alignment. A tip if you forget is to look at the holes closely with a shop light or flashlight. The hole that did not have the screw in it has a smooth inner barrel while the holes that did have the screws have a threaded inner barrel.

Once the three screws are removed you will be able to unlatch the electrical connection and replace the bulb. It's a simple twist out the old bulb and twist in the new bulb procedure. Now just reinstall everything and you are done!

Hope this helps some of you...

Hey Stephen,

I am definitely interested in the yellow as well, and now that I see the pictures above (AWESOME) it would look really nice on my Nara Bronze. The Oakland Zoo is a lot nicer than the SF Zoo, but it's still fun. Yes, definitely, we should have a gathering of SF Bay area LR4 owners... that would be cool!

WOW! This looks awesome!!! I have the same color (Nara Bronze) as you, so I am really happy to see the finished results. Do you have the stock HID lights or are those the Philips CV bulbs? Thanks so much for posting those pics, looks awesome! :)
