Hello everyone,

Thanks to everyone, especially count, for the help and advice in changing out the lights. Yesterday I changed out the high beams (H7s) and fogs (H11) with the Philips CV bulbs and everything looks awesome!

What a difference!!!!

I'm planning on doing mine tonight. Did you by chance get any before/after photos?

No :( Sorry about that, plus it was really sunny when I was changing them and hard to see in a picture. However, you can really tell... One piece of advice, try to pull consistently on the fog light cap, as the little metal tabs seem to pop off easy. Once you get it off once, it's easier to come off and on. Make sure you have a LONG star screwdriver with hexagonal head and remember the order by which you take them out.

Lastly, and this is a big one.... there are three (3) screws total... There is a hole where the screws could fall and it would be a total nightmare to retrieve them. I HIGHLY recommend you use masking tape to cover the holes in the fog light bay to avoid screws falling into the front bumper.

I hope this helps!

Yay! Great job, David. I was going to take photos too but just never got around to it. But there is such a visual difference one cannot refute. :)

Just did the replacement this past weekend. Got a extra pair of H11s to have in case they burn out since I have my DRLs activated and the low beams come on all the time.

Hi,

Thanks for the advice. I can see how those screws might fall into the bumper area if you aren't careful with them.

It was a fairly easy job that took maybe 20 minutes tops. I guess I was really expecting that the screws would be screws and not torx head. Luckily I had a small enough one to get them out.

I did a quick drive around the block last night to check the color and operation. I need to spend a little more time with the set up to see if I really think it was worth it. I couldn't really notice any change in output and the color was not what I was expecting. It may have been the street light influence along with the lighting in the backround that kept my eyes from really seeing the light changes.

Hi all,

For those of you that have replaced your stock bulbs with the CVs, did you really notice the increase in light?

What did the bulbs look like when you got them? I got them in the appropriate packaging, but there are so many scams right now I'm a little concerned. My bulbs had a blue tip on them and the overall bulb had a blue tint to the glass.

I'm only asking these questions as I didn't really see that much change in color or brightness last night with my quick drive. Tonight I plan a little longer drive to see what they look like outside of the city.

Thanks,

Rob

I absolutely noticed a huge difference switching from the stock halogen low beams to the CVs. Do you have bixenons and you're replacing the high beams and fogs only? If yes, then you won't notice much difference since you're used to the HIDs. I also replaced the fogs and the high beams and got a much wighter, brighter light. Your description of the bulb is correct.

Hello Rob,

My bulbs looked the same - overall bluish tint with a blue tip. The packing all looked legitimate as I got them from an automotive shop on Amazon.com. I notice a huge difference after I changed out my low beam halogens and the fog lights with H11s and the high beams with H7s. If you already have HID lights, as baobay stated, it won''t be much of a change just switching out the fogs and high beams.

Or, maybe it's the street lights off setting your LR4's lights?

Either way, best of luck with them -- hoping it works out.

-David.
