help needed

Hello, this is a big one for my first post. I've an 2002, L322 Range Rover TD6, with 102000 miles. The other day I noticed a lot of white smoke coming from the back with the smell of burning oil. When I lifted the bonnet there was oil everywhere, it was coming out of the filler cap. When I pulled the dip stick there was pressure behind it. The car lost approx 4ltrs oil. Any help with diagnosis would be greatly appreciated.
