I have been dealing with bad braking vibrations from the front of my 2013, which I traced to cheap rotors that have gotten uneven deposits on them. On a recent trip to NH, one of the rear caliper pins decided to start dragging and ended up wearing one of the rear pads to the metal, where it ruined the rotor there too. So, I ended up doing all 4 brakes(pads + rotors), using quality zimmermann rotors and pagid pads on all four corners. As we were regreasing all the slider pins with the correct silicone paste(previous synthetic grease caused the stupid pin bushings to start swelling up, all 4 bushings were fat and had to be replaced). I then started thinking about the brembo brake upgrade, which uses 6pot fixed calipers. PowerfulUK has this video where they appear to use the rotors and calipers from an RR Sport, with the rotors being 20mm bigger than factory and then using the big 6pot fixed calipers. Video here:
Has anyone done this upgrade? If so, any feedback? Does the front/rear bias get messed up in any way? Appears you do need 20in wheels for these, also. Would love to see part numbers for the whole job too -it looks like you need new rear shields, new calipers, new rotors and new pads, along with bolts, etc. . At some pt, might be worthwhile trying out so as to get rid of the stupid sliding pin design. Thoughts welcome.
