No they don't require any registration. You can use it in any LR3 and 05-09 RR. It has to remain in the DVD player in order for your NAV system to read the Maps.

I have a few Dealer Copies of the North America/Canada 2011-2012 Navigation Map Update DVD. The DVD's were made by the dealer for use by dealer techs and sales people. These are copies of the Retail Version and will update your NAV System Firmware and install the new 2011-2012 Nav Maps.

The update DVD is for the 05-09 LR3, RRS and RR.
