What are offset tolerances on LR4 wheels? Need wheel info

i don't really understand offset. The factory specs are 53mm. I see lots of wheels with 45mm offset. Do these work or will the tire rub or some other disaster?

Are refinished OEM wheels generally ok? I use 20 inch wheels, 8.5 inch width.
