What software are you guys using to back-off the star wheel for the shoes in order to pull the rotor? If my brakes start doing things like these stories then I'm going to have a problem this winter lol. I'm pretty sure they will freeze up too. I'm planning a trip where it gets down to 9F and daytime highs don't unfreeze.

I can’t remember if I used my GAP IID tool to do it or not, but I do remember backing off the wheel manually to pull the rotor off.

You have to use a flathead screwdriver and it’s kind of a pain to get everything lined up.

I tried backing the star wheel off manually and the rotor wouldn't budge trying to remove it. I heard there is a second star wheel (or whatever component) that needs to be released using software before the rotor can be removed.

my brakes havent been done in about 6K miles and ive never used the e brake on this car so wld be surprised if my issue which happened once was ebrake related. it "felt" and "sounded" more like a fuel/losing a cylinder issue.

You didn't need software to remove the rear rotors?
I used the release e-brake thing in the gap once but it didn’t seem to do anything. The next time I took off the rears I just went straight removing them and didn’t have any issues. I repeated what they did on the powerfulUK video

ok this happened again last night around 70 MPH. goes way as i slow down, comes back as i increase speed. turned the car off on the shoulder, turned it right back on and all is good. i never use my ebrake. has to be something electronic that gets reset with the reset.
