V8 5.0L Intake Manifold - what is the rear sensor?

Can anyone tell me what this sensor is? I don't like the color; wondering if I should replace it while the manifold is out?

Pretty sure that is the one.

Not a sensor.
It's a vacuum solenoid that controls the intake diverter flaps.

Hmmm, I never noticed the color of mine when I had my manifold off...

It gets pretty hot back there, most likely just plastic discoloration with age??

But now that you ask, why not replace it?

Especially with it being on the back. I think it is worth replacing and risking a crib death of the new part.

I'm on the fence, it's not that hard to take the manifold off if needed... I'm starting re-assembly today (starring with the crank pulley) so I'll have to figure out along the way. The part ranges from $160 to about $190. I'm on the back off a lot of those costs; the most recent been a $190 for the timing chain cover because the old one had a slight hole from when the serpentine belt failed (recall another post where the idler pulley failed - bearings - this rubbed a hole in the cover).
