Last year I put over $5K in repairs into the LR3 and almost $2k so far this year. With the alternator whining, AC cutting out and a new banging noise on second-to-first downshifts I decided it was time to move on.
Thank you to everyone here for your knowledge, input and advice over the past 7 years. Thank you for being supportive and never condescending. I always felt that I could ask for help with any issue that came up, no matter how simple the fix. (Who knew a brake light switch could cause all that)
As much as I wanted to buy a new LR4, the current SC6, eco stop, rotary shift wheel and standard running boards weren't for me. Thankfully I found a used 2013 with just 13K miles and a CPO warranty. Yet somehow I am sad to say goodbye to our LR3. It has taken us safely through blinding snowstorms to go skiing, deep sand on the beach and helped create family memories we will never forget.
