I liked the fact that the LR4 taillights didn't have any orange in them. I decided I'd try and buy some red-tinted film and put it over the orange section. It worked out really well and gives the back of the LR3 a slightly different look.

hey Chris, can you post up some pictures of your modded tail lights? That sounds like a pretty interesting idea.

This is the only one I currently have, and it's not very good. I'm done with exams tomorrow so I'll try and get more up this weekend.

This is good to know - I'll be looking at an LR4 in a few years, and can't stand the tail lights - would love to switch 'em out for LR3 tails....

Is the dashboard interchangeable? That would be nice!

qtc - Im sure you will have no problem finding some takers. I would like to find the part number for the lr4 backup camera. It looks like the that would be a direct swap for the plastic trim around the license plate lamps. Not sure where they tucked the other 4 cameras. I want to do a second one underneath some where to watch for rocks (or fish) !

For those of you who are interested. There exists an LED rear lamp kit for the LR3, the part number is LR008052, not sure about the cost, but there you have it, an official conversion kit, or so it seems. I am thinking of going that route, it is a cheap way of convincing myself that I have the latest model :) Subject to the cost of course.

Im not a huge fan of the LR4 lamps, but these are much worse and about same price:

the picture doesn't do it justice, i couldnt find a better picture that shows the cone shaped lamps and the clear plastic trim on these.
