Sold my 2005 LR3 in 2012. Bought an Infiniti G37x. Later traded that for a 2008 Suburban in 2013. Selling that this week. Missing my LR3 so much I decided to look for a low mileage used model. Finally came upon a 2006 SE V8 with only 33k miles. Ironically same color combo as my last one with Buckingham Blue/Alpaca Beige. It does NOT have the HD package, but that's something I'm willing to live without. If I decide to purchase it I will be flying one-way out of Memphis Int. to Seattle to pick it up. Plan on road tripping back through Washington, Montana, Colorado, etc(stopping in Telluride for some trailing.) The dealership is asking $19,995 for it. With it being a 2006 is this a fair ASKING price? I've ran the numbers and they're all lower than $20k. I'm not new to the buying market so I know how not to be duped by pesky dealers, but from your guys experience what would be a fair offer? I'm trying to get down to the $16-17 range. Would this be too low? After all it is a two owner, ten year old vehicle. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers.

*Only faults shown on it is the typical cracked dash issue a lot of people are having. I'm not too worried about this. Here's a link: http://www.405motors.com/used-cars/detail/2006-Land-Rover-LR3/997/SALAE25446A371073

Price seems high to me. One thing I worry about with vehicles that old with so few miles is that they are all due to short trips. We know how hard those can be on a vehicle. If it's been driven a few miles a week comprised of one mile here, two miles there....for ten years that could be bad. If it's more like miles "in chunks" then it's a gem. Make sure to change the diff oil as soon as you get it.

Thanks guys for the response. Currently in a bickering debate with "Zach" from that Stealership. He says, "We can't lower the price($19995) as we don't have that kind of markup in our vehicles." Typical. I responded with screenshots of both NADA and KBB book values. Well under their asking price.

Just make him an offer; let him know that you'll do that deal RIGHT NOW, and if he says "no" then just bounce the **** out.

...he'll call ya back.

Terrible price, probably no maintenance done because it barely has any miles on it. Plenty more to choose from. Be patient

Yeah, I'd haggle with him. Let him know you will definitely buy the vehicle, offer him a price, let him know you are motivated to pay immediately...

...then let it sit. He'll come back to you. Might not be for a week or two.

I didn't look at the listing, but as long as it comes with a good warranty you can use at your local LR dealer. That should take care of concerns that may pop up. On my '05, I was still running into "kinks" for the first 50K. I'd have a list of a few things with every oil change. No show stoppers, but they were there. Once I got over 50K, not so many issues.

So, the low mileage is good. But you'll also have some things that the past owner just never encountered. And yeah, maybe it sat for a while.
