Good morning--

Need to clean the ABS sensors. Chasing the 3 amigos. What is the best way on a '00 LR Disco II to take them out to clean, front and rear?

Thanks!!!

Joey--

My mechanic has done the valve repair kit as of this past Tuesday. Lights still came back on when started. The ABS light stays on after the "test everything" lights when the truck is started, then the TC and HDC join the ABS light a moment later.

My mechanic does not have the equipment to read the ABS codes. Do I need to go to the dealer to have the codes cleared or should the lights go off by themselves?

I have tested the ABS on a gravel road and it still works, but with winter approaching, I'd really like to make sure the TC is working as well.

On an earlier post you mentioned just cleaning them with soapy water and a bristle brush. Still your recommendation? If so, how to remove them?

Thanks!

IIRC you can trace the ABS sensor wire to each hub, and remove the sensor and clean them. The sensor ring on the other had is part of the hub and will need complete disasymbly in order to get to it. But normally the ring is not the issue. In your can I would clean them, and if that doesn't fix the issue I would have someone i.e. dealer or someone with the proper test equipment test to see if one of the sensors is bad.

How are they secured? Bolted down? Do they screw in? Any guidance would be great!

If I recall correctly (it has been a while) you unscrew the cap and the sensor comes out.
