Red Battery Light from Cold?!

Hi y'all. I have a fairly new battery in my 2007 LR3, but I accidentally left one of the lights on in the car a couple weeks ago. (Before Christmas). It started just fine and acted great for the next few weeks. Since Jan 4, the radio will sometimes go into Low Battery Mode for a few minutes but then go back to normal. I live in Utah and it has been in the 20-30 degree range.

Today, however, I got into my car and the red indicator light came on and has been going off and coming on periodically. It was down to 11 degrees today. Is it possible it is not recharging properly because of the cold? Do I need to take it in or should I try to drive it some and see if it charges back up?

Thanks for the advice. Not trying to perpetuate the young woman stereotypes, but I really don't know much about cars!!!

How old is the battery? It may be replaceable under the manufacturer's warranty.

This could be a sign of your Alternator going out, I'm afraid ,symptoms like these were reported on Disco3 forum many times before.

was also thinking alternator, which isn't the end of the world. A rebuilt aftermarket one isn't much more than a battery anyway. But how far is your commute? Maybe it just hasn't fully recharged from the discharge.
