From day one I noticed that if I left a door open, the horn would chirp when I'd go to lock- ok that's fine.

Today, I got out of it, locked it, unlocked went and got my wallet, and relocked it and it chirped. All doors were closed tight, and sometimes (not this time) it refuses to unlock, but eventually it will). So, I got back in, slammed the door, and started it, and shifted from P to D. Got out, and all was well.

Is this normal?

Not normal. Pay attention to the LCD while driving. It will tell you if the hatch, hood or any door is open. I find that I have to clean the hood latch sensor on mine frequently due to dust build-up from my trips off road. When it does happen I don't remember if the driver door locks or not.

I'll look at the LCD, usually just go by the lights. Thanks.

EDIT: Where exactly is the hood latch sensor? I'll check it tomorrow.

There are actually two latches on the hood. The sensor is on the bottom side of the passenger side sensor. Each is located approximately 1/3 of the way in from the side. Should be pretty clear once you pop the hood. Usually I just soak the sensor in WD-40 but if I am at home I'll take the time to blow it out, clean it with a parts cleaner and then spray with wd-40.

My upper hatch is usually the culprit. Dealer adjusted it on my last visit, seems to close better.
