Question about a sensor

I have an 89 rover , and I was wondering if anybody knew some common causes for the EFI warning light to come on

There are too many reasons, knowing Rover.
How is it running, has anything changed?
You are going to need to get it to a mechanic for an answer.

Have you run it low or out of gas? If not, check the oxygen sensor. If you disconnect the ECU, then reconnect it, the fault sometimes clears itself.
