Hi All,
New to the Forum here. Got a problem with my 2016 RR Sport Supercharged Dynamic steering wheel tilt adjust.
The wheel will go in and out, but no longer up or down. It died a few weeks ago when it was -3F outside. Not likely a fuse as it would affect in/out as well as up/down (checked anyway - all OK). Thinking it was the drive motor to the tilt mechanism, I replaced it from a used steering column assembly I bought on Ebay, but no change. Cannot get the motor to turn from the button when plugged in but not attached to the steering column assembly. Drive system appears free and can move manually.
Borrowed a friends tablet based code reader that can read all modules and it's stating there is a steering column tilt sensor A fault. I've searched around and can't find any reference to that anywhere. I tried to get the reader to clear the code, but it says it's a permanent code and won't clear. Could it be a bad sensor? If so, where is it located so I can replace it?
Honestly, any good ideas would be very welcome. Thanks for any help that anyone can offer. Would rather not capitulate and take one of my cars to a dealer for the first time in over 20 years.
Thanks,
Chris.
