I promised pics of the Rover with the RS Sliders on...well, I finally got 'er off pavement today with them. I downloaded a few pics but they're too damn big. Anyone know how to reduce their (file) size???

If you have a pc open the pic with microsoft office pic manager. Hit edit picture at top and then compress on the right.

Pix Resizer is free and does multiple files at one go.

You could also use the Paint program that comes with windows. Go to 'image' then 'stretch, skew'

No! Don't use Paint. It only reduces image size, it does not reduce file size. Just use Flickr, Picass, Pbase, shutterfly, or even Kodak EasyShare. Or Spend a bit and use SmugMug, which is a completely awesome service.

Picasa is actually quite good, and free. It does a lot of image manipulation. Even makes Ken Burns style videos.

Ummm I just tried it with paint. An image was 3264x2448 and weighed in at 1.48 mb. I used stretch/skew on paint using 30% on both, new image 980x735 and file size is 222kb. Pretty significant reduction in file size.

If you have kids they can load the photos in about 5sec. I never thought my kids would know more than me about electronics. I can still beat them at Pac Man though!! Would like to see the pics what option did you go with?

I'm glad to be wrong! I did not know the current version of Paint could do that.

Okay I gave it a shot. I tried making a site using Shutterfly. Try this:

http://roverpics.shutterfly.com/28#28

Unfortunately I only have pics of the LR3 on service roads...I'm usually too busy to take pictures when I'm actually on the trail :) ....especially on the really fun obstacles. I do like this pair of pictures though because they are at similar angles. One is after a wash and the other is during a lunch break during out run yesterday.
