Wanted to add one more item to the thread for future reference...

I also have the factory aux lights (recent DIY install) and had the dealer program them today for ~$50.

It cost me 4 large coffee's from Starbucks to get mine activated. I just rolled up to the service garage a little early in the morning while the tech's were getting ready for the day, and offered them to a few of the guys that had worked on my rig previously, then they hooked up the computer and turned on the lights and made a few other mods at my request and I was out of there in 10 minutes before the service advisors arrived....

So Mr. Air Force, without the amber light, how do you know they are on? By the absence of the green ready light?

Nathan, you are well connected ;)

I was in the dealership waiting room recently, opened up an older copy of LR World magazine, and there you were!

That, and knowing that I pushed the button? I wish I knew how to get that damn amber light to work correctly. When even I got it to come on, it would stay on no matter the switch position.

First post and Hello! I hooked up a set of Hella 55's to my 05 HSE. Instead of going the factory route with the dash mounted switch, I found a cool little remote control at Pep Boys. The remote kit was $29 in the fog/aux lights isle, plug and play. I store the remote in the center cubby. FYI, I wired it directly to the battery so it is completely independent of everything. Even with the car off I can hit the remote and the Aux lights come on. The kit was plug and play. Found the exact one on flebay:

My question, regarding DIY installing the driving lamps, is, for us retards, is there a written or KISS instruction guide to follow? My ground-pounder brain can't seem to follow the pictures too well. It looks like, from the LR Owner's Accessory Fitting Instructions site that there are options depending on which type of LR3 you have and the dash configuration. While I don't have Buckeye's issue of the template, I'm not following the pictures and exactly what seems to go where.
I poked around under the hood this afternoon and saw that the fuse box has some sort of seal tape on the edge. If you pull that off does that void any warranty's?
Thanks!

I just followed the OEM instruction booklet. The in-dash work was the most challenging part.

Removing that seal is necessary to access the proper wire connections. However, I have to warranty to worry about!
