Really nice. I just ordered a LUX but won't be in for a few months (ordered Orkney). I'm usually patient, but I find myself fighting not to check with the dealer every week.

I do have a quick comment. I saw the new key in person. The dealer said the reason why it's smaller was because of complaints of the old size. I think the 2012 key is cut-rate. The late keys felt tough, with nice detail—embossed and hardy materials. New one is plastic and the LR logo is cheap silk screen.

I digress. I only mentioned because you took a pic. I'm sure it doesn't matter in the big scheme of things. Have fun with the LR4 and congrats again!

Hey alegrialv,

I bet it's tough to wait it out a few months for your new LR4 - but worth it. My first car was a BMW 330xi (2001) and I had to wait 5 months for it to come in and it drove me nuts! :)

I have a 2011 LR4 and the key is a bit bulky, but I actually like it better than the new key. I was at the dealership the other day and asked to take a look at the new key. I liked that it was smaller, but definitely feels and looks a LOT cheaper than the 2010-2011 version of the key fob.

Keep us posted!

Finlay, you are correct, not many changes on the interior. I do have the black lacquer wood, which is no longer a $350 upgrade option.

The say what you see feature works pretty well, although my use has been limited to date. The connectivity between my iPad with iOS5 was pretty easy and the bluetooth streaming of music works very well. The navigation system is easy to use and I haven't noticed much of a lag between pressing the buttons and the system doing what it should. I know people have commented on that before, but I am coming from and '05 Grand Cherokee that had a system that was a pain in the a** to use.

As for color, I saw my Sumatra Black next to an '11 Santorini Black and it was surprising how different the two actually are. I prefer the Sumatra, but I am now biased. It has a lot of metallic flakes that dramatically alter the color perception in various light. I think in general LR does a great job on making their color choices stand out vs competitors.
Hey Hoyas06,

I really love your new rig - looks awesome! I like the black lacquer wood - goes really nicely with your combo. I like the look of the new navigation set-up. I am wondering if this can be updated in a 2011 model.... I should look into that option. I know someone probably mentioned, but I don't remember.

I LOVE Sumatra black - definitely much rarer than the Santorini. Keep us posted and welcome to the forum!

Can the 2011 people get a SW upgrade to get the new Nav package? I mean the UI and all.

Also do you know if the bluetooth audio streaming is retrofitable. After all, it already has a bluetooth built into it. It should be only a matter of SW - right?

My initial response to those questions would be I don't know. It is def worth asking a dealer. I'm not going to pretend to fully know what I'm talking about, but I'd think the new electrical architecture that LR put in place for the '12s would make it tough to upgrade the '11s.

Congrats! I have to agree that the new nav/audio UI looks a lot better than the current. Enjoy your new truck. I've had mine since April and it has been nothing but a true pleasure so far. Can't wait to take it through some unplowed roads this winter when everyone else is stuck.

I'm just finally getting used to the UI on the 11. It only took 7000 miles. I do like the new look if the UI on the 12 better and would love to see if there was an upgrade available but my true wish would be the ability to stream audio via bluetooth.
